The Local Advisory Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (LACADA)advises the county on policy, program needs and priorities in the county for comprehensive treatment and care of alcoholics and drug abusers and affected others and for the education of the citizenry to promote public awareness of alcohol abuse and drug abuse. It also advises the county on the planning, development and establishment of new programs and facilities and review continuing programs. The State requires under the provisions of the Chapter 51 grant that two (2) board members are recovering alcoholics and that two (2) members are recovering drug abusers.
