Letters of Representation and Requests for Discovery

Pursuant to R. 7:7-7, please forward your demands for discovery to the following: (Please make sure your request has the entire case number including the designated Court Code)

To expedite the process of obtaining discovery, please carbon copy your request to the law enforcement agency where the charges originated.

Victims or Complainants

If your case has been remanded by the County Prosecutor to the Municipal Court, please contact the County Prosecutor’s Office regarding that decision. The Municipal Court and the Municipal Court Prosecutors do not make decisions on remands.

If you have discovery/ evidence/ information that you believe the Prosecutor needs to review to better understand your case, when you are notified for Court, please appear. On that date, the Prosecutor will speak to you and make arrangements to obtain the discovery/ evidence/ information you possess. Lastly, the County Prosecutor has a Victim Advocacy Unit that may be able to provide you information on services available to you as a victim of an offense: (609) 909-7800. Ask for the Victim Advocacy Unit.

Defendants

If you would like to try to resolve your case online and avoid appearing in Court, please go to the NJMCdirect Portal. You may then enter your traffic ticket information as prompted or select Other Municipal Court Complaint and enter your case information.

If you wish to have an attorney represent you, and you do not have the financial resources to hire a private attorney, you can apply to be represented by the Public Defender. In order to qualify you will need to complete the Financial Questionnaire.
